They also tend to lean on their favourite people. Their coats are short, silkyand shiny and can be chocolate, mahogany, red (small white patch on chest is allowed). Height: Male: 27 - 30 | Female: 23.5 - 27 Weight: Male: 160 - 185 | Female: 145 - 165 Temperament: Dignified, easy going and good natured. Intelligent and loyal. TheDosa likes being with people and, if left alone for any length of time, inits solitude may rearrange the house somewhat. Gentle giant; sweetnatured, noble, majestic and friendly. Tends to 'lean' on its favouritepeople. It makes a huge lap dog. Good with children, excellent with other pets and children. Reserved with strangers.Supervision is required around small children as it may inadvertentlystep on them or knock them over. Health: Cherry eye is common in the breed, must be removed not tackeddown. A good diet is paramount for this fast growing large breed. It isprone to bloat so should be fed 2 to 3 small meals per day. It may alsosuffer from hip dysplasia and genetic eye diseases such as Entropia. Light to moderate shedder. Brush weekly, needs weekly cleaning ofskin folds, and monthly bathing with anti-bacterial shampoo. Living Conditions: Adapts to both city and country environments. Exercise: Moderate energy level. Inclined to be lazy. Puppies should never begiven strenuous exercise as its bones are still forming. Instead, apuppy should be given plenty of space to exercise freely on its own. Life Expectancy: 7-12 years. Origin: Korean Mastiff  (Mee Kyun Dosa) originated in Korea in the 1800's.
